18 Super-Easy Tips That Will Make Your Guest Room Extra Special

Want to make your visitors feel right at home? 

Being prepared ahead of time will send your guests the all-important message they are very welcome in their “home away from home.” Use this handy checklist to ensure you have everything so your special guest will be comfortable with no complaints!

1. Everything in its Place
Be sure to provide closet space for clothes (along with some empty hangers). If you don’t have closet space, at least provide some door hooks so your guests can hang up a few items. Drawer space is also nice for guests staying longer than a few nights.



2. Make Yourself at Home
It’s also great to have a place where folks can open up their suitcase if they are there for a short stay. A luggage rack, stool or bench can can fill this need.

3. Get the Wrinkles Out
Oftentimes clothes can get quite wrinkly during a long trip. Provide an iron and ironing board or a steamer so your company can get everything straightened out.



4. Sit Back and Relax
Be sure to provide a place so your guests can sit to put on shoes, chat on the phone or just relax for a few minutes.

5.That’s Entertainment
A TV in the guest room is much appreciated. Don’t forget to place the remote control near the bed so they don’t have to get out of bed to turn it on.

6. Get Tech-Y
Print out the WiFi password and if you have extra chargers to spare, keep them in the guest bedroom.

7. Something to Say
Providing a notepad and a few pens will help guest have a place to write down any thoughts or lists they may have while visiting.




8. Just in Case
Tissues in the guest bedroom and bath are essential, and basic toiletries can solve any “I forgot my toothbrush” issues.


9. Rub a Dub Dub
Fresh Towels and wash cloths will make your guests feel like they are staying at a luxury hotel.




10.Looking Good
Providing a hair dryer is a nice idea in case your guests don’t have room to pack one in their suitcase.




11.Throw it Out!
Wastebaskets in both the guest room and bathroom will allow the guests to not have to search for a place to put those used tissues.




12. Fluff it Up
Be sure to provide plenty of extra pillows, and an extra throw and/or blankets.

Five-minute mysteries, travel books an assortment of magazines, classic novels and the local newspaper will provide some quiet-time activities for your guest.




14. Time to Snuggle
It’s always helpful to have a light with a switch near the bed so your guest won’t have to stumble around in the dark just to turn a light on. A nice bedside table is also a plus!




15. Refresh Yourself
A basket with water bottles and a few snacks will help ease those midnight munchies and provide a sip for the bedside table.




16.Time to Rise and Shine
An alarm clock with will allow your guest to be aware of the time and to wake up when needed.

 



17. One Last Look
Your guests will appreciate being able to check their wardrobe with a full-length mirror in the guestroom.
